This is a dangerous cocktail because it is so easy to drink. It's a take on an old classic, is sophisticated and makes excellent use of Respeto.
- 2 oz Extra Añejo Tequila
- 7.5ml (1/4 oz) Respeto
- 5 dashes of Peychaud’s Bitters
- Add ice, strain into coupe glass
- Express lemon oil the empty glass
- Absinthe spritz glass
- New lemon peel express + garnish
Using a tequila or a lightly-smokey mezcal, you can make an Old Fashioned that is 100% agave by substituting Respeto as the sugar source.
- 1.5 oz Reposado Tequila
- 1 oz Montenegro Amaro
- 1/3 oz Respeto
- 2 dashes Orange Bitters
- Serve in chilled coupe glass w/cherry
This is the most popular cocktail recipe using Respeto, and it's similar to a Carajillo (when served with ice), or a deeply delicious espresso martini (when served in a coupe glass.) Impossible to drink just one of these! (Consider using decaf coffee to prevent the jitters.)
- 2 oz Espresso (or cold brew)
- 2 oz Blanco tequila
- 1/2 oz Respeto
- Shaken (vigorously)
- Serve in rocks glass with ice
OR, serve up in coupe glass
- No garnish
Respeto is actual cooked agave, so it is dark from being caramelized. This is not true of other agave nectars, which skip the cooking step and follow a more chemical conversion process.
We call this the "Caramelized Margarita", which is a Tommy's Marg using Respeto. The result is a dark, but super delicious and layered cocktail. In our opinion, it tastes better, has more depth and complexity, and makes it even easier to drink.
- 2 oz Blanco tequila
- 1 oz lime juice
- 1 oz Respeto
- Shaken
- Serve in rocks glass with ice
- Garnish with lime wheel
